Customised AI set-up for consultants and small businesses
AI, fitted to how
you work.
I sit down with you, look at the work that fills your week, and set up an AI system on your own computer that takes on some of your tasks. The aim is that you're using it for real work in the first week.

Most of what you read about AI is about the frontier: new models, and forecasts of what they will do in a few years. That's interesting, and sometimes scary, but it doesn't tell small operators whether AI can save them time or win them new customers.
In my experience the answer comes from customising AI to suit individual and small-business needs. I use Claude to show you what AI can do with jobs you already handle, and you finish with a system built around how you work.
I'm Sam Porter. I've led AI transformation work in government. What I took from it is that the gains come from fitting AI to the way each person already works. I now set up AI systems for small businesses and consultants, most recently for a marketing agency and a communications consultancy.
Start with the work, then add the AI
Whenever I've trained teams to use AI, the people who got the most from the sessions were the ones who could set out, step by step, how they did a recurring job: where the information came from, what they checked, and what a good result looked like. Once a job was written down like that, AI could take on a fair share of it.
Most small businesses run on knowledge nobody has written down. So we start by mapping two or three jobs you do every week. Those notes become the instructions your AI system follows. They are also useful on their own: when you take on staff or hand work over, the process is already documented.
How it works
-
1
We map your work
We pick two or three jobs you do every week and write down how they get done.
-
2
I build your system
Set up on your own computer, around those jobs and in your voice.
-
3
You put it to work
With me alongside, or with a step-by-step guide if you'd rather do it yourself.
You end up with an AI assistant on your own computer that knows your business and follows your way of doing things, with helpers that check its work before you see it. You keep it, along with the workflow notes, and you can add to both as the business changes.
What one client found
Sam designed a custom AI program tailored to the unique structure of my business. I operate multiple brands under one larger umbrella, each with its own distinct brand values, voice and design requirements.
Within the first month alone, the efficiencies gained have resulted in a 25% increase in my external billings.
I've been using AI for over two years, but Sam's expertise and guidance have taken my understanding and capabilities to an entirely new level.

Options
Prices in Australian dollars. Both set-up options need a paid Claude subscription, which you pay to Anthropic directly. I'll tell you which plan suits before we start.
Questions people ask
Who does this suit?
People who already use ChatGPT or Claude for some of their work and are comfortable on a computer, for example installing an app or finding a file. You don't need to code. It suits confident users too: if you already use AI every day, the step up is a system that runs your repeat jobs with its own instructions and checks, so you stop re-explaining your business in every chat. If you've barely used AI yet, get comfortable with a chat tool first. A free short course is a good start, and I'm happy to point you to one. Ready to wear asks a little more of you than Made to measure, because you do the set-up yourself.
What sort of work can it take on?
It depends on the business. So far it has drafted client emails and proposals, turned meeting notes into task lists, written media releases and fact sheets, and produced first drafts of marketing content. It prepares the work, and you check it before anything goes out.
What will I need?
A Windows or Mac computer you're allowed to install software on (some work laptops block this), and a paid Claude subscription. I'll tell you which plan suits before we start. Plan on an hour or two in the first fortnight using it on real jobs, because that's where most of the value comes from. If you already pay for ChatGPT, we can talk about setting it up there.
What happens to my information?
The system sits in a folder on your computer and works with the files and accounts you choose to give it. What you ask it is processed by Anthropic, the company that makes Claude. In Claude's privacy settings you can stop your conversations being used to train its models, and I'll go through those settings with you at set-up. For client-confidential material, we agree up front what goes in and what stays out.
What if it doesn't suit me?
If you change your mind before I start building, you get a full refund. With Ready to wear, if the kit doesn't work as described I'll fix it or refund you, and for 30 days you can put the $495 towards Made to measure. With Made to measure, if you cancel after I've started building but before our first session, I refund everything except $500 for the build work. Your rights under Australian Consumer Law apply as well.
Isn't there free help for this?
Yes, and some of it is good. Government programs offer free AI advice and short online courses, and they're a sensible first step if you're new to AI. What I offer is more hands-on: a working system built on your own computer around your own work, with me on hand while you get used to it.
